Guinea in the United States

teaching_cartoon One of the missions of the Peace Corps is to bring a little bit of Guinea back to the US. Here, we hope you'll find a way to get a greater dose of la Guinée than is possible on our website.

World Wise Schools Program

Friends of Guinea,

I am a Program Analyst with the Peace Corps' Coverdell World Wise Schools and a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (China '02-'03, Romania '03-'05). World Wise Schools, a program that fosters cross-cultural understanding through educational materials for K-12 students in the United States, is promoting a number of technology initiatives:

Podcasts - A series of audio stories by Peace Corps Volunteers including "The Meaning of Time" by Kimberly Ross (RPCV Guinea):
http://www.peacecorps.gov/wws/multimedia/podcasts/

Slide Shows - Photo narratives by Returned Peace Corps Volunteers:
http://www.peacecorps.gov/wws/multimedia/slideshows/

New Website - A completely redesigned website with stories and lesson plans on Guinea as well as many other Peace Corps countries:
http://www.peacecorps.gov/wws/

We hope you enjoy our program's new offerings. If there are returned Volunteers interested in contributing to our website and broadening the knowledge of students in the U.S., we are always accepting submissions. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me.

All the best,
Riley
