To Whom it May Concern: My name is Bob Torvestad. I started my national service career with VISTA in the late 60s followed by 5 years with Peace Corps in West Africa (Ghana, Gambia). I retired from federal service after serving as financial manager for the three AmeriCorps programs. About this time last year, I began to work with several others to organize the Clinton School of Public Service. It has taken some time but we are now in the process of recruiting students for our inaugural class that will enter the School in the fall of 2005. The Clinton School is located adjacent to the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock. We will confer a Master of Public Service (MPS) degree ^Ö the first School to offer a degree focused exclusively on individuals interested in careers in public service. As a professional school, we are interested in developing the public service leadership skills. We hope to have a student body from locations throughout the United States but also throughout the world. This is why I asking for your help to let RPCVs know about the School but also individuals from Guinea that you may still be in touch with and who might be interested in applying to the School. Tuition is very reasonable and is the same for in-state as well as out-of-state students. Scholarships are available based on need and merit.
